Happy New Year!! Hope all is well with everyone! I'm still here. Lol. It has definitely been a minute though. God has some good things in store for A Guided Light. Stay tuned. 2018 is going to be a good year. A year of change! New things can only take place if we change our posture in the Spirit. 💜

An Active Life
Hello all. Hope your night is going great. I'm just sitting here listening to some music and thinking......as usual. This life as a believer is a life of LIFE. It is an abundant life that comes by way of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It is not a passive life. It is an active life. A life to be lived to the fullest in the ways of the Lord. So my question is..what are you doing with this new life Christ has afforded you? What is your purpose or your passion? God has given us all a purpose or assignment for His glory.
I have finally found my passion. And guess what? My passion is my purpose!! I'll talk about that later though. I will say, all of this didn't come about by me being passive and just living. It takes prayer, fasting, and reading of the word. It takes an intentional seeking. It has taken me a little bit to reach this point, but I am thankful and excited. *Also note that "doing something" isn't always a physical action. This blog doesn't cause for me to set up tables, change diapers, or serve food. It is something that God has told me to do. I'm doing it, therefore I am active.*
Seek God's will for your life. His timing is important too. I truly believe I couldn't walk in my passion before now. I wasn't equipped to do it. Pray to God for guidance if you already know what your calling is, but aren't walking in it. I promise you He will give you the steps to follow if only you'll walk in them.❤

What's The Time?
I was encouraging people on a previous blog about not giving up on this walk and realized we often quit things because we're pressed on the timing. God is not bound by time. So when things are not happening in a specific time frame that's when we want to hurry and rush God. We want to put Him within our constraints. God is NOT bound by time, we are. When it looks as is He's not doing anything, He is.
We as believers cannot be stuck on a time clock. God hears our prayers and He will answer them according to His will and His timing. Our frustration comes from counting the minutes while we sit back and do nothing.....but count the minutes. We have to be busy about kingdom work in the process of waiting on an answer from God. Ever been at work or school and find yourself staring at the clock? You look, it say 1:30 and you could almost swear you've been busy for 20 minutes so you look again and it says 1:36. Talking about a bummer! I know I have moved when it wasn't time for me to move and let's just say that I'm still dealing with the consequences of my actions. Wait on God!
We are not to operate the way the world does. The world is on a timeline. They have set ages by which things are supposed to happen and if you are not where your age indicates you should be, you are failing at life. Some things we cannot avoid because we live in this world. Remember though, we are IN the world not, OF the world. "Be ye transformed" (Romans 12v2)is the bible verse that I think about when it comes to this subject.
So calm down and take a deep breathe. Don't get so worked up over something God is in control of. If it's God's will for your life, your prayer will be answered. Stop thinking that because He hasn't moved yet, that He's not going to. He moves in His timing, not ours.

Everybody Is Not Going To Heaven
I'm noticing even more and more now that when someone passes it is common place to say that the individual is in heaven or that they have gained their wings. At no point, in death or life, do humans become angels. In the bible, angels appeared numerous times in human form, but make no mistake, they are NOT humans *Hebrews 1v14*. We tend to think that because we view someone as being good that they are automatically worthy of heaven. There is none that is good. No, not one!! *Romans 3v10-18* The bible informs us that unless a man is born again, he shall NOT enter the kingdom of heaven *John 3v3-7*. I understand that this subject is touchy, but its one that must be explored. We are not good. We are not great. We are evil, wicked and perversed. You know, its got to be pretty bad if God himself had to descend from heaven in human form just to die for us to have a way to be reconciled back to Him!! *John 3v16-21* Even in this loving gesture from God, we have to have faith that we are saved through God's grace. *Ephesians 2v8-9* All throughout the word mankind is referred to as evil...worthy of an eternity in the lake of fire. Nobody likes to think that we aren't worthy of anything less than spending an eternity with God, right? Because we go to church every Sunday, believe there is a God and we haven't killed anyone or anything dramatic like that, we're clearly in good standing with God? Wrong! Church attendance is NOT equated to salvation. So many distractions and lies are floating in the air nowadays. We want heaven and good things of God, but we don't want to live holy and righteous. The word of God is our life line. It is by the word that we find out what God wants from us and how to operate in this life to prepare for the next one. Contrary to popular belief, Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. *John 14v6* He says that no man comes to the Father except through Him. Heaven is real, but so is hell and that's where those who die apart from Christ will spend an eternity. So, unless you excepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and have been born again as a result, then you are NOT going to heaven. Only the names that are written in the Lamb's book of life shall enter heaven. *Revelation 21v27*

Happy New Year
Yes, I know, I'm late. We're only the 6th day in so cut me some slack. :^) I hope everyone is doing great and that the new year is off to a great start for all. I'm sure many of us are glad that 2016 is over. The year 2016 for me was a year of growth. The main and most important area of growth was in my spiritual life. Whew. Man, God is good. He's just great. I never knew so much would take place spiritually within the last six months of the year. I remember journaling about it a few days ago and was just in awe at how far I've come in my walk. I was a mess. I was finally able to walk in true forgiveness to those who hurt me in the past, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, got out of a relationship that I should have never been in, joined an intercessory prayer team, had an encounter with God that I will never forget, and started seeing things(visions). Those are like the major things that happened, but I have many, many more "minor" things happen as well.
Fast forward to 2017. For this year, I'm really wanting to continue to build my relationship with God. I'm seeking to be a biblically sound woman. A woman that is well versed in the Word. Not with the intentions of exalting myself over others, but by being able to rightly divide the Word, effectively sharing the Word, and, of course, live it. Another goal for 2017 is to become more of a planner. I want to write my goals and visions down so that they'll always be in the forefront of my mind. I tend to forget things quick because I'm not writing anything down. I'm not too concerned with things being perfectly in line with my wants because God's will will always be triumphant. "You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail."- Proverbs 19:21, NLT. I'm joining a small group that meets about 30 minutes from where I live. I'm so excited about this because I don't have like minded friends or people to discuss the bible with. I've been praying for friends, so this is the perfect way to make some. Awesome!! The Lord has shown me that my life lacks discipline. My flesh cringes at the thought of discipline, but it's a problem that needs to be solved; spirit, soul, and body.
I truly pray that you are writing down what your vision is for 2017. It doesn't have to be an extravagant to-do list, but maybe it's that thing that you didn't get completed last year. What has the Lord specifically told you to do? What are you passionate about? Do you need to start a blog, a Youtube channel, or a small group? Take some time to sit down so you can reflect on 2016. Look at areas of your life that you can be better in for 2017.
Love you.

Words Of Encouragement
Hello everyone!
I just want to take the time to encourage someone today. Regardless of what you are going through I want you to know that God is still in control. He's still able. He still heals. He still delivers. He still provides. He still guides. No matter what it may look like you will make it through. He knows everything and will be with you till the end. He's still on the throne. He's always listening to the voice of His children. Nothing catches Him by surprise. Nothing. How great it is to have a Father that is ever present and that never leaves. This year has been a year of spiritual growth for me. Wow. Like I honestly cannot believe where I'm at now compared to where I was 6 months ago. He is definitely working within me. Constantly turning me on the potter's wheel. Even when I don't feel like anything has changed within me spiritually, I soon find out that He's been working behind the scenes. So keep reading the Word, keep praying, keep fasting, keep praising, keep seeking. Don't worry about someone else's walk. Please don't compare yourself to someone else!! Just don't. I've been there and it only breeds discontentment and jealousy. I've had to learn that my journey is mine and your journey is yours. It's like running in a marathon for the first time. As long as you cross that finish line who cares what place you come in? You completed the race that was set before you. You conquered it. Yeah you got tired, but you didn't quit. Quitting would mean you forfeited everything. This walk is the same way. We'll get tired and grow weary, but we can't stop. We may not can run at the moment, but walking is fine. Why? Because you're still moving forward. Don't ever give up. You are more than a conqueror!!
I also want to encourage you to read Romans Chapter 8 in your quiet time.
Love you and praying for you! *watch the video at the bottom*
2 Corinthians 10 verse 4-5
" 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Philippians 3 verse 12-14
12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[d] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Romans 12 verse 2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello! I wanted to drop in real quick and say Happy Thanksgiving. I hope that everyone is enjoying this day with loved ones or in whichever way is best for you. For me, I'm at work which is a bummer, but I can't complain about the three day weekend I'm gonna have! Although this day is the set day to "give thanks", EVERYDAY should be a day of thanksgiving for the body of Christ!!
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. -Psalm 100 v4.
